THE CASCINA

Nestled among the hills of Nizza Monferrato, Cascina Christiana is an ancient late 19th-century residence that captivated Aldino and his large family from the very first moment. What surprised them was the perfect state of preservation of the historic internal stable, with its exposed vaults that once housed horses. In 2007, Aldino and Raffaella decided to make it their own, transforming this place into a project dedicated to producing wines that enhance the identity of the territory.

THE TERRITORY

The vineyards of Cascina Christiana are located in the heart of the Nizza DOCG and Barbera d’Asti DOCG region, on the San Michele hill in Nizza Monferrato, at 260 meters above sea level. Here, the landscape unfolds into a mosaic of hills recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with the Alpine arc providing a breathtaking backdrop. From the Cascina’s terrace, with its infinity pool, the view stretches all the way to the peaks of Monviso, Gran Paradiso, Monte Bianco and Cervino, offering unique views from sunrise to sunset. We are in a unique terroir, where marly and calcareous soils provide the perfect conditions for wines of great elegance, finesse, and aromatic complexity - an authentic expression of Monferrato. The vine rows, arranged parallel to the gentle slopes of the hill, not only protect the landscape and soil from erosion but also convey the very essence of the land to the wine.
